Happy Chinese New Year!

Happy New Year!

Our new year's dinner tonight~ BBQ pork, we call it "叉燒" in Chinese name!~ although my one is not exactly the same as Hong Kong's, but the taste is 90% the same. That's because of in Italy, they have nothing for making BBQ pork as they never have it since their "grand grand grand grandfather".

But Japan, they have the similar BBQ pork, I like both Chinese and Japanese's one. If compare with the taste, Chinese one will be more sweet than Japanese's one as we will put honey when we burn the pork.

We are going to leave this DAMN country on 22th of Feb~~~~ Great! really happy new year!

Cafe? no, Tea.

There is a tea place in Milan, Italy is famous at their hi-quality coffee, but this is the tea place called Pottery cafe.

I always use this cafe as a meeting place, I can spend really long time inside. Because mostly Italian people prefer to take coffee and sit and talk for a long time(noisy a little bit) but here I feel relax and people are also quiet to enjoy their tea time.

the cafe is in London also, so that we can choose many traditional English teas, but also we can see some special tea like "tranquility" or "Spicy passion"...

Their food is all using organic materials, I always order Chicken and Vegetable. They also have vegetarian food and I can see many vegetarians in Italy.

Italian Slow food is this,

they are providing "my cup" services, people can paint their pot or cup, plate and they will bring it to another city to burn it. You can eat & drink with your design cups or plates here.

I wanted to try, but it's too late...

Advices for people who want to study in Italy

Why study in Milan, Italy (advantage 2)

If you like cars, especially those from 80’s or something, Italy’s car shows should make you scream! Every year, they have different types of car / motor shows, all of them have huge exhibition area, showing the latest models or some classic models of each brands.

Also on the street, it’s easy to find out some old cars still running, some of their appearance still look like new with good condition!

Or you can take a train, to visit Lamborghini and Ferrari, they are located in a small town Modena which is 2 hours away from Milan. I only visited Ferrari Museum, they have many classic models inside and you can take as many pictures as you want.

Alessi Outlet step by step~

Alessi, one of the most famous company in metal products. By understanding how to use design, they hired famous designers to design their products and had great success.

As there are outlet shop next to Alessi factory, selling their products with the price cheaper than Alessi shop, so we decided to go their to buy something. Alessi factory, located in Omegna, it takes more than 2 hours from Milan, and need to change the train one time in Novara.

Old train with a “dog door keeper” inside, after I took this photo, it put it’s head from the window “wo wo, no foto”!

A really small train station with nothing there.

The train that we took from Novara to Omegna, old train but still clean with good condition! Not easy to see in Italy~

After arrive to Omegna, there are no signs to show you how to go Alessi factory. Actually there are one arrow with “Alessi -->”, but if you follow that way... I promise you will never arrive to Alessi factory. As we didn’t saw any web-pages share with this information, so I would like to share here.

Follow the sign “information” on the right.

And until you see this place, information center will be on the left, but they will not open on Sat after 1:00pm.

After pass by the “information”, you will see this church, get on the bus there and it will arrive near Alessi factory. (Or you can try to call taxi, just call the number show on the "Taxi" sign, some funny thing will be happen~~)

At first we try to walk by ourself without ask anyone...finally we saw this!! Alessi’s Anna~

Anna Anna!

The front entrance... building with the same appearance as my friend told me... but actually this is not the factory...this is the “Alessi Logistica”, but they dont have any signs to show you how to go Factory...damn! we waste so long time for this...

Finally we follow the pic6 and took bus there... until you see this sign, please get off the bus.

Follow the sign and finally we arrive Alessi factory... the building look like the same as before’s one...

Part of the things that we bought!

Things that I have lost in Italy

According to Eric's advice... I would like to share my experience(s) in Italy...

I lost many things here, I don't know why but I lost a lot! It's not because I'm stupid and always forget something, I'm normal and fortunately I was better than the average in Japan... My high school was 2nd great in my prefecture, and I can make right decision for everything that I need!!

But after I came here, I lost a lot of things, especially the things that I really loved...

Mostly I prefer to use long lasting and good material and quality products because
I'm Japanese. Japan doesn't have enough natural resources because we are in a tiny island so that we have tradition of high quality and long lasting handy craft...

But anyway...these are the things that I lost...

1. My black boots (My father bought me one from my favorite brand, it was simple and can match with every clothes, so I expected to use it for a long long time!)
2. My Scottish muffler (I bought this in my favorite shop in Kyoto, I walked through the shop and it was speaking to me to buy it! Because it knew I will be great with it...) 3. long sleeve shits (I have brought some long
sleeve shirts from Japan, now I only have 1 left) 4. My African pierce (I met with it in Aichi Expo 2006. African people have introduced their great traditions.) 5. A Pen made by Venetian glass (I know a great skill of Venetian glass before I come here, and I bought one that I really love...when we went there during a Mask Festival) 6. My leather groves (I just bought it last winter, but I had to buy it again in this winter...) 7. My black knit-cap (I bought this when I was in University and everyone said it's good on me...)
8. My snake skin wallet (I was making it to fit my hand... It was limited edition that I got in my favorite shop...)

Well...
Some more imoirtant things...

My portfolio, my credit card, cashcard(s),pictures that my mother sent me from Japan, and letters and postcards that my people sent me...

Hey, you want to come to Italy????

Advices for people who want to study in Italy

Review of 2006

As we are going to leave soon, so from now on, I think its the time to have revision about staying in Italy, Milan. As I think this revision can be a kind of reference for the people who want to come to study, travel or work, so I would like to share and explain my personal experience honestly, and people who visited this blog can judge or try by themselves later.

In this revision, I am going to divide into staying in Italy’s
advantage or disadvantage in 360°

Why study in Milan, Italy (advantage1)

In Hong Kong, as many people like traveling around the world, especially
European countries, so there are always some TV programs to talk about Italy’s. Just before I came Italy, I remember Italy in the TV programs were really nice, they mentioned about people in Italy are nice, everywhere are having the atmosphere of Art, Design and Fashion.

I can understand that kind of TV program should be a kind of promotion from the travel agency, so I’ve done some “homework” on the internet by myself. What I could search also the same speaking as the TV programs, nice pictures of Venice, Rome, Milan and etc...

I think this is one of the advantage for stay in Italy, if you are crazy about the heritage buildings, Italy should be a nice place to see the old buildings.
